10.30-11.15 Seth’s Dominion
BAC: Screen 2

A screening of the atmospheric and insightful documentary about Canadian artist Seth, introduced by the artist himself.

Seth's Dominion showcases Seth’s life and work with a combination of live action and animation. Reflective, witty and nostalgic, Seth makes for an intriguing subject. Dominion is a 1950s city, a product of Seth’s imagination, which began as a series of sketches. Seth expanded Dominion into a 3D model city which later went on to be exhibited at art galleries. “You’re not aiming at the detail so much as the overall feeling,” Seth notes of his creative process. “There is something very lovely about the stillness of a comic book page.”
