Rock N Roll Dance Night – Vocale Attraction

14th September 2019

Doors 7.00pm | Tickets £12 |  Kendal Town Hall

Back in the heady days of the 60s Henry Fawcett and Brian Taylor formed the Johnny Taylor 5, up in the North East and played gigs all over the North including The Liverpool Cavern as a support band for the Beatles, and later again in Liverpool as a support band for The Rolling stones.

Over the years they played in different line-ups, appearing on The Jimmy Young Show, BBC Bristol, and with Dave Allen on The Middlesbrough Empire.

To date, they have never stopped rolling and now play a vast range of music from the 1920s to the 1970s, with decades of experience of playing live events.

In 2005 they teamed up with Graham Thompson, a brilliant rock n roll pianist who had played on cruise liners for about fifteen years supporting artists like Bob Monkhouse, Carl Denver, Bert Weedon, Bony M and the Rocking Berries. Later two talented young singers from the North East, Lisa Lawlor and Wendy Moutrey joined the band adding a splash glamour. In 2015 Chris Rutherford, a brilliant musician, joined the band as lead guitarist, and Steve Fletcher as drummer replacing Brian Taylor who has retired, but who will appear as a guest on the show.

The Khiraule Education Project, promoting the event, is a local South Lakeland Charity, who support a village and a school in the Khiraule Valley, a remote area in Nepal, east of Everest. This is a fundraising event to support the people of Khiraule, their junior school and their health clinic, in this remote area of Nepal, recently devastated by the 2015 earthquake.

This is the sixths time we have promoted this event so expect a great night.
