After the resounding success of 'Oliver' last year, this year The Queen Katherine School, Kendal weave their magic on another classic musical.
Based on a short story by Damon Runyon, 'Guys and Dolls' has been described as the perfect musical comedy. Desperate to find money to set up his floating crap (card) game, Nathan Detroit bets fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, $1000 that Sky will not be able to convince Salvation Army girl, Sarah Brown, to go to Cuba with him. While Sky undertakes this bet, Nathan battles with his fiancee of 14 years, night club singer Miss Adelaide, who wants Nathan to finally set the date. Throw in a Police Lieutenant who always seems to appear at the wrong time, chorus girls, gamblers, missionaries, the QKS usual cast of 100's, the music/lyrics of Frank Loesser including such classics as 'Fugue for Tinhorns', 'Luck be a Lady' and 'Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat', and you have a musical not to be missed.
