Sat 2 Oct | 11.15am-12.45pm | 1.15-2.45pm | 3.15-4.45pm | 5.15-6.45pm | £45pp per session | Tutor Chris Barnes | Art Room 2
This is a fun intensive throwing workshop that will concentrate on improving your throwing technique on the potter’s wheel. Suitable for any ability, whether you’ve never tried it before, or want to hone your existing pottery skills.
If this course has already started there may be places still available. Please contact sales@breweryarts.co.uk
What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
With just four students per session, the workshops tutor Chris will give individual tailored help and instruction designed to generally improve throwing technique and focus on areas chosen by each student.
Centering clay, improving cylinder height, bowl technique, throwing plates, making galleries and lids, and throwing bellied forms are all possible subjects of focus.
The emphasis is on practice rather than finishing work but students will be able to choose one piece to be fired and glazed after the workshop which can be collected at a later date.
If you have always wanted to throw larger and lighter pots, or just master the all-important centering of clay on the wheel, Chris is ready to share the approaches and techniques which work.
If you would like to book as a family or group of friends, please contact Creative Learning Manager Kate Lund kate.lund@breweryarts.co.uk for further information.
