Friday | 1pm – 3pm
Tutor: Catherine MacDiarmid
Summer term: 20.04.18 – 25.05.18
This course will provide an opportunity for people with some drawing and painting skills to develop their painting skills through the discipline of portraiture. You will be guided through a series of painting exercises exploring different techniques, paint handling and colour palettes, with both water and oil based mediums, developing good practice along the way. The higher fee for this workshop reflects the use of a model in the sessions.
Please note there will be no class in the week commencing 13 November due to Kendal Mountain festival.
“Learning to draw and to paint in different media has given me a whole new perspective on life.”
Catherine has exhibited widely, including the BP Portrait Show 2001 and 2002, and has won many awards, including 1st prize at the Brewery Open in 2002. Her work is collected nationally and internationally, and features in Sky Portrait Artist of the year 2014. (Image credits: Catherine MacDiarmid)
