Ponyo, half-human, half-goldfish, escapes from her father the marine lord Fujimoto, and is adopted by a young boy, Sosuke. But with the natural elements thrown askew by Ponyo's mischief, the natural world looks to Granmamere, queen of the ocean, to restore balance.
