An exclusive masterclass for just 8 people who are committed to “the language of comics”. In a couple of days, over two three-hour sessions, you will create a story of around 4 pages either on paper or digitally or both. It could be about the street, the neighborhood or the town where you live (set in the past or the present).You will bring your own working materials -computer, paper, ink, watercolor, pencils or whatever material you prefer to work with.
Oscar Zarate is a prize-winning Argentine writer and illustrator and has had a major impact on comic art over several decades. He has worked with Alan Moore on A Small Killing and produced several graphic novels with Carlos Sampayo and with comedian Alexei Sayle. As editor he created a book of graphic short stories ‘It’s Dark in London’ with Neil Gaiman, Dave McKean, Alan Moore, Iain Sinclair, Ilya, Carol Swain, Alexei Sayle and others, published in 2012 by SelfMadeHero. He’ll be drawing live from his new book ‘The Park’ at the Festival.
