Gently pursued at the behest of many of the UK's leading creators, LICAF isproud to have persuaded Mick McMahon to make a rare appearance at a comic art event. Mick is one of the most influential and inspirational comic creators in the UK. He claims his most notable character for 2000AD, where he was a regular contributor from Issue 2, was Superbean but, of course, we all know differently! From his brief flirtations with Marvel and DC The Last American, written by John Wagner and Alan Grant, was perhaps the most notable though Alien Legion and Batman Black and White were also well-received. Mick cites his favourite work as Decap Attack in the British weekly Sonic the Comic, and has high hopes for Kestrels, an upcoming series of graphic novels with Ben Dickson.
Join Resonance FM's Alex Fitch for a rare glimpse into Mick's work.
