13th June 2019

Tutor Caren Threlfell | 10.30am – 4.30pm | £55

Make a skirt of your own design in a day! Learn how to create a pattern using your own body measurements, then design, cut and sew your skirt, to take home and wear with pride!

What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
You will learn how to create a basic skirt block from your own body measurements and then how to adapt it to make a pattern for your own design.

You will then cut and sew your skirt. Learning how to insert zips, attach facings and waistbands and how to create features such as pockets along the way.

If you’ve never used a sewing machine before, you will be given instructions on how to use one.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Please bring along a basic sewing kit, scissors ( 2 pairs, 1 paper, 1 fabric), tape measure, pins, pencils, ruler for pattern cutting and then also some scrap fabric ( an old sheet will work well ) so that you can make a mock up of your skirt.
  • You will then need your chosen fabric for your skirt (2m) sewing thread and a zip to match.
  • If you have a sewing machine and are able, please bring it along, although there are several machines at the Brewery that can be used.

Are there any additional costs?
None
