21 Sep | 10.30 -4.30pm | Tutor Frances Winder | £59
Using free methods, we explore landscape painting, experimenting with different drawing and paint effects. With advice on selecting views and composition to help you get started. How to express trees, skies and water in paint and choose a style to work with in the future.
What will the workshop cover and how will it be taught?
During this course I will do a series of demonstrations, and you will get to try several methods of paint application and style. Suggestions about viewpoints, format of the work and practicalities of working with sketches or working from photographs are all considered.
We look at work by several different artists and explore your own interests and taste in artwork as a jumping off point for your personal development. We also have some very practical demonstrations and work looking at painting trees, skies, rocks and water.
What do I need to bring with me?
You need to bring your own brushes, pencils, ruler, and any extra paint or paper you want.
I will provide paint, palette and paper. There are also water pots and easels and some drawing boards here to use. Bring a plastic sheet or newspaper to protect the table, your glasses if required) and any reference material or photos. A sketchbook is a very useful tool for notes, reminders and plans.
Are there any additional costs?
I would say extra costs are implied if you want to use more paint or paper. We only have very basic colours; you may want to explore different colour schemes
