KENDAL’S SCARS, WOODLANDS AND WILDLIFE

Aimed at/grading: Moderate with some difficult stiles and wall gaps to negotiate, uneven/steep ground and muddy woodland paths.

Duration/length: 6.5m, 5hrs includes lunch break in Cumbria Wildlife Trust wildlife gardens.
 

A wildlife-focused hike, over farmland, open fell, woodland, and two Wainwrights (outlying fells). Occasionally muddy, steep terrain – walking boots essential. Highlights include: excellent views, wildlife, limestone and woodland habitats, accessible from town centre (and two Wainwrights).
 

Meeting place The green opposite/outside the Riflemans Public House at the top of Beast Banks, Kendal

Meeting time 10.20 for 10.30 start.

Need Packed lunch, drink (tea/coffee facilities available at CWT Wildlife Garden), suitable clothing and walking boots, camera.
