Kendal College Short Film Night: Collaborative Creations
Kendal College is delighted to collaborate with the Brewery Arts Centre in a celebration of local film, bringing together established filmmakers and those at the beginning of their careers.
Kendal College Film students have made six short films rooted in the local area. These include two documentaries, one about the first ever charity women’s boxing match in Cumbria and the second about a 15-year-old sponsored BMX rider. There will be a short animation about a robot trying to warm up on a cold day, and three drama films. In the first, a young man is forced to choose between an old friend and a new job. In the second, a busker follows her heart into a world of music. And in the third, a man on trial for assault must confront the demons of his past before accepting the reality of his future.
The screening also presents the work of award-winning local filmmakers Kerry Kolbe, Richard Berry, Dom Bush and Ben Gerrish, who are kindly showing their work as examples of industry standard filmmaking.
This screening is a Pay What You Decide event – please give generously!
