The original punk poet whose blistering verse captures British working class life like no other.
Now a Dr, no less, JCC’s work is as relevant now as it was in the 70s when his biting, satirical and funny verse – delivered in a rapid-fire performance style – shot to prominences alongside the burgeoning punk movement.
He has toured with bands such as The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Buzzcocks and Joy Division and his celebrated anthology, Ten Years in an Open-Necked Shirt, featuring poems such as Evidently Chickentown, Health Fanatic and Beasley Street, continues to draw new followers to the delights of the spoken word.
