If you would like to continue extending your knowledge of more idiomatic language and look in greater detail at aspects of grammar and sentence structure, this is the course for you.
What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
Activities will involve speaking, reading, listening and writing, and there may be some opportunity for audio-visual activities. The main emphasis will be on communication, so there will be plenty of opportunities to practice your speaking skills.
If you wish to enrol as a new student please ask to be put in touch with the tutor to ensure this is the right level for you.
You will work on improving your vocabulary and level of accuracy. The emphasis will be on developing speaking and listening skills, via a variety of exercises and activities in a relaxed atmosphere. Topics will help you express yourself in everyday situations. There will be lots of pair and group work, and the approach will be light-hearted! Reading and writing exercises will help broaden your range of language, and there will be work on improving the use of grammar.
By the end of the course/workshop you will:
have broadened the range of topics on which you can express yourself and have developed confidence in using impersonal forms, giving instructions, talking about necessity, and using a wider range of .adjectival forms. You will also have had the opportunity to revise language covered in intermediate 1, particularly the conditional.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a pen, notebook and your glasses, if you need them.

About the tutor
Catherine Bond is an experienced language teacher with a degree in French and German. During her degree, she spent a term at university in France, and a year as a language assistant in a school on Lake Constance, on the Swiss/German border. After completing a PGCE she spent 2 years living in Italy, learning Italian, and working as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, which she continued to do in Oxford on her return to the UK. She has been teaching Italian, German and French in Adult Education for the past 8 years.
