If you would like to extend your knowledge of Italian, begin to learn more colloquial phrases, look in greater detail at aspects of grammar, and also clarify some of the basics, Italian Intermediate is the course for you.

What will the course cover and how will it be taught?
The course takes place in a relaxed and light-hearted atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to try your Italian out. Activities will involve speaking, reading, listening and writing, and there may be some opportunity for audio-visual activities.
By the end of the course you will:
- Have had the opportunity to get to grips with various elements of the past tense system (e.g. reflexives in the passato prossimo, the imperfect)
- Have more confidence in using pronouns (reflexive and direct+indirect object)
- Be able to talk more precisely about position and location(prepositions)
- Be able to form the conditional
- Use continuous verb forms
All the above will be embedded in everyday topics and situations, which will also help you build your vocabulary.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a pen, notebook and your glasses, if you need them.
Are there any additional costs?
You will be asked to purchase a moderately priced course book, to be advised at the start of the course.
About the tutor
Cath Bond is an experienced language teacher with a degree in French and German. During her degree, she spent a term at university in France, and a year as a language assistant in a school on Lake Constance, on the Swiss/German border. After completing a PGCE she spent 2 years living in Italy, learning Italian, and working as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, which she continued to do in Oxford on her return to the UK. She has been teaching languages in Adult Education for the past 11 years.
