What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
The course takes place in a relaxed and light hearted atmosphere with plenty of opportunities to try your Italian out. Activities will involve speaking, reading, listening and writing, and there may be some opportunity for audio-visual activities.
The main emphasis will be on communication, so there will be plenty of opportunity to practice your speaking skills, while working on improving your vocabulary and level of accuracy. Topics will help you extend the number of everyday situations in which you can express yourself.
By the end of the course you will:
Have revised key elements of grammar, and sentence structure. We will agree in the first session what the class would like to cover and new points of language may be requested.
The grammar will be embedded in everyday topics, giving you the opportunity to express yourself on a variety of subjects.
What do I need to bring with me?
Bring a pen, notebook/laptop and your glasses, if you need them.

You will be asked to purchase a moderately priced course book, to be advised at the start of the course.
About the tutor
Catherine Bond is an experienced language teacher with a degree in French and German. During her degree she spent a term at university in France, and a year as a language assistant in a school on Lake Constance, on the Swiss/German border. After completing a PGCE she spent spent 2 years living in Italy, learning Italian, and working as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, which she continued to do in Oxford on her return to the UK. She has been teaching languages in Adult Education for the past 11 years.
