Inspired By Nature: Digital Photography For Beginners | Mon 3 Oct to Mon 31 Oct | 10am-12pm | £75 (4 wks) | 16+ yrs | Tutor Eric Pye | Footprint
Nature has provided many photographers with their inspiration and here is your chance to do the same. Enjoy the beautiful woodland environment while you learn through a mix of theory, demonstrations, and assignments that will help you to master the controls of your camera.
What will the sessions cover and how will they be taught?
By the end of the course, you will have received and practised the basics of digital photography. You will learn the controls of your camera, the basics of metering and exposure control together with techniques to aid composition. You will also have an enhanced idea about what to look for and how to turn what you see into meaningful photographs.
Who is it suitable for?
Beginners and early intermediate photographers. You will have some idea of how your camera works, but want to really get to grips with what all of the different options can do for you.
What do I need to bring?
You will need a digital camera, its instruction manual (a physical copy or access to a digital copy), a memory card, clothes suitable for going outside and some means of making notes. A tripod may be helpful for some of the sessions but is by no means a necessity. Bear in mind you will be carrying equipment. Travel light! Tea and coffee is provided.
There is no session on Mon 24 October.
Some of the time will be spent outdoors and will involve walking on uneven paths and climbing slopes, which could be an issue for those less mobile. Please contact the Creative Learning Team if you wish to discuss any specific needs via email email@example.com

About the tutor
Eric is a photographer who likes to combine his love of the outdoors with a desire to produce something creative. He likes to try to convey something about the places in his images and does this with traditional landscape shots as well as more abstract ideas using camera movement and multiple exposures. As well as creating his own images, Eric now puts his years as a school teacher to good use teaching photography to groups, individuals and here at the Brewery. You can find out more about him and his work on Facebook as Eric Pye Photography.
