INKO:A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO MANGA

Festivals |
19th October 2013 – 20th October 2013

This information-packed hour and a half will delve deep into the fascinating world of Manga. What does 'Manga' mean? How did it develop? This lively session will include a demonstration of character drawing and the opportunity to try it out for yourself. You’ll work in a group to create a character setting with people (age, gender, fashion, special aspects, name) and draw your own version of the character you’ve all made. Take the drawing home to colour and develop the story. Plus Q&A, suggestions for further reading, tools for drawing, convention schedules, competitions to join and more.

Inko is a Japanese Manga artist who now lives in the UK.  Her work includes Milk The Cat Comix and MangaQuake.  She was also commissioned to create 19 Manga posters at Embankment Station in London as part of Art on the Underground.
