Hangmen is a dark comedy by writer Martin McDonagh, best known for his film In Bruges.  It has received rave reviews, with many of the broadsheets giving it five stars.  The subject matter might be grim – the abolition of hanging in Britain in 1965 – but the play is hilarious, with laugh-out-loud dialogue and a gripping plot.

★★★★★ ‘The best new play of the year.’ Daily Telegraph

★★★★★ ‘Gripping, funny and dramatically tense.’ Sunday Times

★★★★★ ‘Drop-dead hilarious.’ Independent
