12.30-1.30 Graphics to Games… and Back Again
BAC: Screen 1
The worlds of comics and games may seem very different, but there's a surprising amount of crossover between the people who make them — and the skills needed to create them.
Writer Antony Johnston (The Fuse, Dead Space, Shadows of Mordor) hosts a discussion with fellow creators who straddle the line between comics and games, including Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + The Divine, The Curfew), Ian McQue (Grand Theft Auto), Bach (It's Hard to Be
a Girl), and Samuel Leblanc (Perfume of Lilacs).
Find out why comics and games have so much in common, why they attract a certain kind of creator, how a game gets made in the first place, and whether games can be considered works of art in the same way as comics.
