Giddy Art

22nd May 2019 – 30th November 2019

by Aimee Green | Vats Bar | Free

Aimee Green, founder of Giddy Art, was born in Lancashire and at an early age emigrated to Canada with her family. This was the beginning of an exciting time travelling and living in North America, the Middle East and Europe until she finally moved to the Lake District in 2014.

Aimee has been inspired by her travels and the cultural influences of the countries she lived in. In her formative years, she was interested in art and was encouraged to explore her talent. With this artistic flair, Aimee decided to study Graphic Design and has a BA(Hons) to add to her achievements. The graphic design influence is reflected in her paintings.

Aimee favours large abstract pieces using vibrant colours and detailed textures to create conceptual art, drawing inspiration from experiences in her life and the inspiration of the beautiful landscape of the Lake District that surrounds her.

Aimee’s work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions across London, Lancashire, West Yorkshire and Cumbria. She has corporate and private collectors throughout the UK. More recently Aimee has loaned out some of her pieces to the BBC for a series called Million Pound Menu, aired in 2018. Currently exhibiting at Arteria in Lancaster and Bumblebee Gallery in Kendal.

‘Removing representation gave me the freedom to create exciting pieces that tell a story. My interests lie in the colour, texture and emotional response to strong composition and design.’ Aimee Green – Giddy Art
