Join us for a day of “just talking” using a variety of topics and activities. Gain confidence in expressing your views, discussing texts and getting to know others – herzlich willkommen!
During the day you will learn to:
- Revise aspects of grammar and vocabulary
- broaden communicative language skills
- practise with a variety of topics
- practise activities in pair and group exercises
Your tutor will discuss: the course content with the class and may make some adjustments to the syllabus based on the needs of the group. They will also try to accommodate individual requirements where it is practical to do so.
When you have finished this course you should be capable of:
Students will be able to:
- give and ask for personal information
- talk about personal interests and current affairs
- give opinions agreeing and disagreeing
- read and discuss simple texts
- Know about aspects of culture and tradition in German speaking countries
Students should have studied at least 6 years or have an A-level or equivalent.

What do I need to bring with me?
The tutor will be in touch with all students via email regarding arrangements for lunch prior to the language day.
Please bring a pen, notebook and your glasses, if you need them.
Access and facilities:
Most of the Brewery is accessible for those who consider themselves to have a disability. There is a lift to all floors within the main building and adapted toilets. On occasion, classes may take place in Room 14, with access via stairs only. Audio Description (AD) is available in Screen 1. Infrared audio system is available in both Cinema Screens 1 and 2. Induction loops (T) are in place in the Theatre, please ask for assistance on the door.
Some live events may carry strict age restrictions, these are outlined on our website. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult at all times during evening events.
