Love clothes, hate waste? Give your old clothes a new lease of life through re-stitching and embellishing to make something completely unique.

What will the session cover?
Techniques will include cutting and remodelling on mannequins, embellishing, sashiko (Japanese art of celebrating mends by making them a decorative feature), as well as using fabric paints and pens.
Basic hand and machine sewing techniques will be demonstrated, but no previous experience is needed!
Who is it suitable for?
Anyone, you don’t need any sewing know-how! If you’re interested in sustainable fashion and styling your own unique look, then this is for you!
What do I need to bring?
Bring along at least 2 items of clothing you’d like to re-invent eg T-shirts, jacket, jeans etc. You may want to explore charity shops to find some inexpensive items before the workshop. But don’t worry if you don’t have any, there will be items available to try out different techniques on.
Bring a packed lunch and a drink.
Are there any additional costs?
No, all materials are included.

Kate Reid has an Art and Design Textiles degree from Central School of Art London and works as a freelance Costume Designer.
