Want to do something creative with like-minded people? Come and spend a relaxing afternoon exploring watercolours. No experience is needed, just come along to have fun and learn something new.
What will the workshop cover and how will it be taught?
This workshop will be a playful exploration of watercolour. Using landscape as inspiration try freeing techniques such as wet in wet with added splashing, washing, and materials to create interesting textures.
Important Information
Why not combine the workshop with a visit to the Craft Market Kendal at Brewery Arts which takes place on 26-28 Nov? This popular art fair attracts a wide range of artists and crafts exhibitors. Please be aware that the Brewery Arts car park is expected to be busy so if you’re travelling by car please allow time to park.
Are there any additional costs?
All materials and equipment are included. Tea/coffee & biscuits are included.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a clean apron and/or wear old but clean clothes as painting can get messy.
About the tutor
Karen enjoys working with a range of painting and drawing media, including printmaking, sometimes combining these to create mixed media images. Each type of medium brings its own exciting possibilities and unique qualities, something she continually explores.
Her interest in Printmaking developed at Kendal College whilst completing a Foundation Degree in Drawing with the University of Cumbria. She finds the quality of marks made in the process of printmaking particularly fascinating and has produced prints using a variety of techniques.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Cumbria and Lancashire over the last 25 years and she has been involved with projects including Printfest and C-Art and runs occasional print workshops for the National Trust at Allan Bank, Grasmere as well as for private groups.
Karen is an experienced qualified teacher and has been teaching in the adult education sector since 2011
