8.15-22.30 Dave McKean presents Luna
BAC: Screen Two

Cert: 15 106 mins
Directed by Dave McKean

Filled with faces familiar to British television Luna follows two couples whose weekend idyll in an isolated English seaside home becomes a chance for spiritual healing. With his roots in graphic novels never far from the surface, McKean’s camera and script step in and out of reality to wonderfully unpredictable effect. The film overflows with powerful visuals, detailed artwork and a pitch-perfect soundtrack grounded by rich character development reminiscent of Dave’s prestige comics Arkham Asylum and Sandman. Luna won the BIFA and Raindance Best Feature Awards.
This special screening will feature an exclusive director’s commentary.
