COUNTRYSIDE COMICS

Festivals |
20th October 2013

“I thought it would be like in Tamara Drewe but I feel like Jack Nicholson in The Shining…”

Penrith-local graphic novelist Owen Michael Johnson and Disconnected Press writer/editor/co-founder Lizzie Boyle in conversation to discuss what it takes to create comics from out in the sticks. Owen and Lizzie explore the process of creating Owen’s second graphic novel Reel Love; a journey through one man’s cinematic fantasies, and ‘Disconnected’; a Twilight Zone-esque anthology series. Creativity, isolation, inspiration, a splash of local history, and the Croglin Vampire!
Followed by a Disconnected Press portfolio review.
