This months line-up of top stand-up comedians includes Canadian Wes Zaharuk, Liverpudlian funnyman Chris Cairns and winner of 2013 BBC New Comedy Award Steve Bugeja.
Steve will now also get to make his own show with BBC Radio Comedy his victory was won after being judged in two gruelling heats then the final was decided by an online poll and phone voting. The live broadcast on Radio 2 was hosted by Patrick Kielty.
When asked about his love of comedy he said:
“I always admired stand-up comedians growing up. I just love the idea that one person could entertain so many people at once. Then I had a go myself and I got hooked. The buzz of getting a laugh is incredible. I've never done drugs, but I imagine they wouldn't be as good. And yes it's scary, but a 'good scary'. Not like drugs, which are 'a bad scary'.”
