COLLAGRAPHS AND RELIEF PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP

Creative Learning |
14th October 2017

Sat 14 Oct | 10.30am – 4.30pm

Tutor: Karen Lester
Venue: Print Room
Cost: £60.00

An opportunity for a more experimental approach to printmaking processes using simple card to create plates. Create abstract forms and patterns easily using techniques involving collage on the plates (collagraph) combined with intaglio and relief techniques to build your printed image.

Karen has enjoyed working with different media over the last 20 years, culminating in exhibitions at galleries in Lancashire and Cumbria. Whilst studying for a Foundation Degree in Drawing with the University of Cumbria, she developed her interest in printmaking, using printed images in installation work and experimenting with techniques such as sandblasting Perspex plates for printing.

She produces prints inspired by different sources from the Cumbrian landscapes to the styles of the 1970s, the taxidermy collections at Kendal Museum and the natural world of the forest.
