Tutor Penny Hunt | Fee £63 | 1 session
You will learn how to design and build textures and interest to create a collagraph plate and then how to ink and print a small edition from it.
What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
After looking at the way different artists work with collagraph so that you understand the possibilities we will focus on exploring textures and using a range of marks and techniques to make a collagraph plate in the morning.
In the afternoon you will be shown how to ink and print from your plate, making a small edition of prints. The final prints you produce will very much depend on your interests so if you have sketches, photos or designs you would like to work from bring them along, if not there are plenty of natural forms to work from in and around the print room or photographs the tutor can provide.
By the end of the course/workshop you will:
Have a small edition of prints you have pulled from your collagraph plate and have an understanding of the process and different artists who use it.
What do I need to bring with me?
An apron and any images you have for inspiration which could be sketches, photographs or images ripped out of magazines.
Please bring a pen, notebook and your glasses, if you need them.
Are there any additional costs?
None, all materials are included.
