Meet the tutor…
The Brewery Youth Arts programme is delighted to welcome a brand new guitar tutor to the team!
Katie Davison has been playing guitar since catching the music bug at primary school and she went on to study music at college and university.
She has performed with numerous bands across the north of England and is influenced by a wide range of music. Katie is skilled in a variety of styles from the folky sounds of Fleetwood Mac to the power chords of heavy metal.
Katie said: “The course will be a fun and interactive introduction to the skills and techniques needed to play the electric guitar. We’ll be using examples from a broad range of music and I’ll be encouraging students to bring their own ideas and examples from the songs and artists they like themselves.”
“Learning a musical instrument as part of a group is very different to one-to-one tuition as it’s a very supportive environment and students feed off each other, also, at £5 per session it’s a lot cheaper!”
