Duration/length: 4-5 hours,6 miles/9.5Kms including an hour at Gurnall Dubbs for a circular walk round the tarn and a picnic if fine. Optional stop-over on return at cafe in Staveley.

Meeting place Kendal Railway Station
Meeting time 10.a.m.for 10.09 train, buy tickets on train. Return fare (as if to and from Staveley) £3.40 adult, £1.70 child, 1/3 off with rail pass. Finish in Staveley, for cafe, and return train at 15.56, arrives Kendal 16.05 (or 14.46…) NB. train times and fares will need checking in Summer timetable.
