Beginners Pottery

Creative Learning |
2nd July 2019

Tutor Chris Barnes | 10.30am – 4.30pm | Tues 2 & 16 July | £120

An intensive introduction which will equip you with the pottery skills you’ll need… quickly. Take the short cut to success with clay.

What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
The course covers hand building with clay as well as a taster in throwing at the wheel. Coiled forms, slabs and pinch pots will be explored with attention to successful joining, fitting lids and making good handles and lips. The two-week gap between sessions enables time for drying and firing and each student will be able to finish their work with glazes.
The course is taught in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere by a tutor who welcomes absolute beginners as well as more experienced makers who wish to improve specific skills.

What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring an apron or work clothes.

Are there any additional costs?
Costs of materials and firing are included in the course fee.
