The Young Folk Award is Radio 2’s annual search for talented musicians and singers aged 16-21 who perform folk, roots or acoustic music from
any culture. During tonight’s concert, each of the ten contenders in this year’s competition will perform, and a panel of judges will shortlist four acts. The winner will be announced at the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in February 2014.
