6.15-7.15 Bartkira
BAC: Screen 1

What happens when The Simpsons meets Akira? Answer: the mind-bending crossover otherwise known as Bartkira

Brainchild of British artist Ryan Humphrey, Bartkira brings together Matt Groening’s The Simpsons and Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira to dazzling effect. In the aftermath of this internet-shattering event James Harvey proposed the impossible: to redraw, in its entirety, Otomo’s 2146-page epic Akira with Simpsons characters. Uniting the forces of the global indie comics community, over 400 artists pledged to contribute pages. It’s been growing ever since, both in size and popularity. Find out more about this crazy project from James Harvey and James Stacey (all the way from Tokyo), and Bart’s struggle between powerful and secret forces.
