Minima – The Phantom of The Opera
01|11|2015, 7.30 pm
Venue: Arnside Educational Institute | Church Hill | Arnside
Live music and the moving image combine to recreate the magic of the silent film era with the perfect pairing of the 1925 cult horror classic The Phantom of the Opera with a live contemporary score from acclaimed soundtrack band, Minima (drums, bass, guitar, cello).
Beneath the sewers of the Paris Opera House dwells a masked figure. He is the Phantom, a hideoulsy disfigured composer whose dream is to turn chorus singer Christine into a diva. Based on Gaston Leroux’s 1910 gothic novel, this iconic film stars ‘Man of a Thousand Faces’, Lon Chaney in the title role. His ghastly make-up and outrageous performance made this one of the great classics of American silent film.
“Minima’s unmistakably spine-tingling music clung to each twist of the movie…spellbinding accompaniment.” The Guardian
