Although best known for his starring roles in the sitcoms, Father Ted (for which he won a British Comedy Award and a BAFTA nomination) and My Hero, Ardal's other TV comedy dramas include Big Bad World, Blessed, Skins and Dr Who.
Ardal has appeared on his own Dave's One Night Stand and more recently on Live At The Apollo and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow.
He has even found the time to write a book, his best-selling novel Talk Of The Town features in the book '1001 Books to Read Before You Die'. However it is as a stand-up comedian where Ardal's true vocation lies.
