Tutor Katie Edwards | Fee £180 | 10 weeks
If you have little or no previous screenprinting experience this new course will get you started! You will learn how to screenprint your own design and go through the whole process from the design stage to pulling the squeegee!
What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
A variety of techniques will be shown with examples. You will learn how to prepare your design ready to put on your screen. You will have a go at coating a screen with photo emulsion, expose the design, learn about different inks, squeegees and print a small run. The course will provide lots of room for experimenting. Places are limited to provide individual attention to students.
In a change to dates previously advertised, please note that there will be no session on 24th Jan and the course will finish on Thu 4th April.
By the end of the course you will:
Be able to make a screen and print a multi coloured edition using a variety of techniques.
What do I need to bring with me?
A photograph or drawing or design you would like to work from (not necessary for the first session)
Wear old clothes and please bring a pen, notebook and your glasses, if you need them.
Are there any additional costs?
All equipment will be provided but there will be a small additional cost for sundry materials such as paper depending on use, which can be paid on a half-termly basis.

Katie Edwards creates conceptual illustrations for a wide range of international clients from editorial to advertising, using traditional photographic and silkscreen printing techniques.
