AL DAVISON:FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY FOR FILM & COMICS

As well as a comics creator, Al Davison holds a 'Black fire' sash in Dian Qi Tao Gung Fu which in Karate terms is a 5th Dan Black belt . Al will give you an introduction to fight choreography for comics and film, and will be exploring different approaches to fight scenes, why certain things work in film and not in comics, and vice-versa. Al will be assisted by actor and physical theatre practitioner Matthew Reynolds, courtesy of Labyrinth Theatre.

Al Davison is an award winning graphic novelist. He is also a film-maker, martial artist, fight choreographer, performer, and teacher, and is probably best known for his autobiography The Spiral Cage. Al self-publishes his dream diaries, sister-volumes to his autobiography, the most recent being Hokusai-Demons. Recently he has worked on IDW's Doctor Who comic, House of Mystery  and the Eisner-nominated The Unwritten, both for Vertigo.
