Walk: A Circular walk from Kendal to Scout Scar

Duration: Approx. 3 Hours
Distance / Ascent: 5miles/8km, 800ft/243m
Grading: Moderate
Description: This is a circular walk aimed at those interested in the wildlife and views. This walk from the centre of Kendal takes us through the site of the original castle to visit an impressive monument and then up onto Scout Scar with its magnificent views of the fells and Kent Estuary. Returning back to Kendal Town Hall in time for lunch.
 
Scout Scar escarpment is a dramatic landscape feature, and the vistas of the Lake District Fells are stunning. The area is important for wildlife and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest within the Lake District National Park.
Meeting Place: The Peace Garden, Abbot Hall Park
Meeting Time: Friday 11th May at 9:50am for a 10:00am start
