Food lovers can keep out the cold with some cracking comfort food at the Brewery Arts Centre this Christmas.
Chefs at the centre’s Grainstore Restaurant have created a special Winter Warmers menu, using the finest seasonal prepared produce which has been carefully selected to create the ideal culinary comfort blanket for the long, dark December nights.
The new menu features a mouth-watering mix of classic and contemporary gourmet dishes including beef shin cottage pie, slow roasted pork belly with chorizo creamed potatoes, smoked haddock scotch eggs and cauliflower wings with hickory barbecue sauce.
The dessert menu has also been revamped with hearty offerings such parkin bread and butter pudding with caramelised banana and rum ‘n’ raisin ice cream, poached pear and chocolate mousse and classic Bakewell tart.
The new dishes sit alongside the Brewery’s popular gourmet burger and classic pizza menus and are also available in the Vats Bar which boasts a range of winter warming local ales from Hawkshead and Bowness Bay breweries and extensive selection of whiskies and gins.
Catering manager Kerry Gossio said “We like to re-vamp the menu regularly to take advantage of all the wonderful seasonal produce that becomes available throughout the year. “Winter is all about comfort food which is why the new menu includes hearty, satisfying dishes packed with flavour to complement our popular menu of pizzas burger and bar snacks.”
