Colin Reynolds | The Outlying Fells – An Alternative View | 3 Mar to 15 Apr
Based on Alfred Wainwrights Guidebook of the Outlying Fells this exhibition is an exploration of some of the lesser seen parts in the Lake District. All the work involves film-based Alternative Photography processes predominantly cyanotypes, toned cyanotypes, Van Dyke, Argyrotypes and Lith prints. The idea is to illustrate the lesser seen parts of the Lake District using less well known photographic techniques.
Reynolds is a Kendal-based film/digital/alternative process photographer. His practise looks at digital creative photography using film based and alternative photography techniques. The use of film, old cameras and natural elements such as sunlight to expose the contact prints adds an element of time and serendipity that is an antidote to the instant results and gratification of the digital world.
