This workshop is a fun, exploration-focused Introduction to Printmaking, where participants will experiment with a range of different printmaking techniques, such as monotype, drypoint, and collagraph.

What will the class cover and how will it be taught?

Through demonstrations, group, and one-to-one tutoring you will be led through different printmaking techniques to learn how to use various specialist printing equipment, such as the printing press. Initially, the focus will be on experimentation with mark-making, creating texture, shape, and form using different techniques, leading to creating your own limited edition prints.

Who is it suitable for?

Printmaking is accessible and fun for all abilities.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring an apron and/or wear clothes you do not mind getting messy. Bring your glasses, if you need them.

Are there any additional costs?

All materials and equipment are included in the price.

About the tutor

Caroline Stow is a Cumbria-based painter and printmaker with a working studio in Kendal. Caroline also works from the Iron Press print workshop in Lancaster. The majority of Caroline’s work is two-dimensional, including drawing, painting and printmaking, as well as occasionally other media.
