Glazes And Surfaces

Creative Learning |
15th January 2019 – 18th January 2019

Tutor Chris Barnes | Fee £79 (afternoon) £95 (evening) | 5 weeks

This course opens the door to the wide range of surface treatments available for ceramic work at The Brewery and suggests ways of integrating them into your pieces. The aim is to give you more control over the finish of your work.

Surfaces are considered in relation to form and function, with expressive use of texture and colour. You will be given more technical understanding and practical experience of how glazes and colouring oxides work so that you can use them more effectively.

The class is run with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A creative approach to design and making is encouraged.

A charge will be made for additional materials purchased during the course.

  • Select glaze to emphasise texture
