WELCOME TO ADULT LEARNING 2016-17
We are delighted to introduce our new programme which continues to be ever changing to ensure we provide courses and workshops for everyone which will improve skills, increase confidence and promote healthy and creative lifestyles.
We believe it is important to deliver courses where all members of the community can experience the joy of learning and feel proud that by offering these opportunities we can enrich people’s lives.
Year after year students return to the Brewery, which is testament to the quality of our programme and our tutors who are passionate about teaching.

Autumn Term Dates 2016
Mon 19 Sept – Fri 9th Dec ( 10 weeks )
Half Term Mon 24 – Fri 28 Oct
Classes will not run in the week commencing 14 Nov due to the Kendal Mountain Festival.
Spring Term dates 2017
Mon 16 Jan – Thu 30 Mar (10 weeks )
Half Term Mon 20 Fri - 24 Feb
Summer Term Dates 2017
Mon 24 Apr – Fri 26 May ( 4/5 weeks )
No classes Bank Holiday Mon 1 May
The summer term is open to both new and continuing students, except for language and music classes.
ENROL EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!
Enrolling on a workshop at the Brewery Arts Centre is easy.
Payments can be made in three ways:
a) Payment by cheque - payable to KBACTL or Brewery Arts Centre. Please include a separate cheque for each course you wish to attend.
b) Credit or debit card. Complete the appropriate section below and attach to your enrolment form. Please check card details are correct to avoid enrolments being delayed. All cardholder information is secured at all times and kept confidential.
C) Book Online at www.breweryarts.co.uk - Online bookings will incur a £1.50 booking fee.
An enrolment form must be completed to confirm your place. Enrolment forms are also available at Box Office or downloadable from our website at www.breweryarts.co.uk . Places are limited and secured on a first come, first served basis so it's important to book early to avoid disappointment.
Please ensure all paperwork has the correct date and is enclosed with the enrolment form. The ‘NHS Exemption Tax Credit’ card is not acceptable as proof of Working Tax Credit Status.
Two fees are stated for most courses. Most fees (even full price fees) are subsidised by Cumbria County Council and are available for the following categories only.
Fee A) Full Fee
Fee B) 50% discount for learner in receipt of
Job Seekers Allowance
Employment Support Allowance (Work and income related)
Working/Child Tax Credit [subject to threshold]
Housing/council tax benefit
Pension tax credit – guaranteed credit only
And an unwaged dependant of those listed above.
Some of our Adult Learning programme is subsidised by the Skills Funding Agency via Cumbria County Council. To be eligible for the subsidy, participants must be aged 19 years or over by 31 August 2016. If you are under 19 and would like to participate in one of our courses or workshops, please contact our Adult Learning team on 01539 722833 ext 273/275 for further information.
We will need a separate enrolment form for each learner.
Please return your completed enrolment form to Box Office, The Brewery Arts Centre, 122a Highgate, Kendal LA9 4HE
Return completed forms to our Box Office by hand or post ensuring all the necessary paperwork is included.
What happens next?
We will confirm your enrolment by e- ticket with your course information sheet. If the course is full, you will be put onto our waiting list and contacted should a place become available. Course Information sheets can be requested prior to booking the course.
Are you unable to submit your form?
If you are unable to submit your form because of a disability we can complete your enrolment form and take payment details over the telephone or via email.

Proof of concession, if applicable can be brought in on the day of the course, or before. Please note this service is only available to students with a disability.
Please let your tutor know if you are unable to attend a course session for any reason. This is because unrecorded absences have a negative effect on our funding. Three unrecorded absences will result in the cancellation of your place on a course and no refund will be given. Please inform your tutor direct or through the Box Office on 01539 725133.
