Creative Learning |
19th June 2019

Tutor Karen Lester | 6.30 – 9pm | £15

This introduction to Intaglio printmaking will help you create prints from your own photos using drypoint techniques on perspex sheets.

What will the course or workshop cover and how will it be taught?
Using your own photograph as a guide you will ‘transfer’ the image by scratching lines onto a perspex sheet. This will then be inked up and a print taken using the printing press. You will be guided through the process with Tutor demonstrations, example work and individual support.

Have used the drypoint technique to create a print using your photo as a guide. Once created, this plate can be kept to use for several impressions.

What do I need to bring with me?
Photos or images from magazines and newspapers to work from. These should be about 6″ x 4″ and no bigger than A5. If working on the larger size a less detailed image would work well. Printmaking is messy so bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes.

Are there any additional costs?
No
